Helmets With Counterfeit Snell 2000 Identification
10.09.2008
Competitors, scrutineers, officials and dealers should be aware that there are some helmets on the market that have decals stating that they are Snell 2000 certified when they are not.

The bogus 'certification' is located on a small decal at the outside, bottom, rear of the helmet. These helmets are not certified for use in KartSport competition.

To be sure a helmet is approved for use at KartSport sanctioned events, look for a Snell, ECE or SFI sticker inside of the helmet. It will be attached to the inside of the shell under the lining. Sometimes the stickers are difficult to locate, and locating it may require dislocating the lining, but if the helmet is Snell, ECE or SFI certified, it will be there. No sticker NO racing.

Please be diligent in your checking for these counterfeit items.
