IMPORTANT NOTICE 

2022 National Sprint Championship KartSport New Zealand CANCELLED

KartSport Management and Executive regret to advise that due to the increasingly challenging Covid-19 pandemic issues, escalating Omicron infection rates, self-isolation requirements, downstream resourcing and logistical impacts the decision has been made to cancel the Easter 2022 National Sprint Championships due to be held in Wellington. This follows an extensive review of existing and potential impacts on the preparation and management of the event along with in-depth discussions with our Risk Team, Competitions Department host club Wellington. 

Discussions will now commence regarding hosting venue options for 2023 preceded by a review of the format for future Nationals events. Covid-19 has taught us that as a sport we must constantly review, evolve and optimise our event policies and processes to meet environmental and economic impacts but also cater for the changing face of member and trade participation.  

We extend a huge vote of thanks to all those who have made significant sacrifices and investments to get to this stage and sincerely regret the inconvenience this will cause, however in this incredibly turbulent Covid-19 environment the need for certainty is paramount. KartSport shares the nations disappointment and increasing levels of frustration however we look forward to a brighter future returning very soon for our karting family.
